Come With Me by Suzanne Eller

Come with me

Imagine that Jesus walks up to you, right now, and asks you to follow him. He doesn’t tell you where, and he doesn’t tell you what it will entail. He just asks you to come.

Will you say yes?

In her warm, conversational way, bestselling author and Proverbs 31 speaker Suzanne Eller shows how, when you say yes, you take a step away from the uncertainty, the to-do list, the worries and excuses. And you take a step toward the One who promises to delight and surprise, who will transform who you are, how you live, and how you impact the world.

So come. Walk with Jesus. Listen to his words. Step into the harder places of faith – but not alone. Learn who you are, but more so who he is to you.

The road will wind, your feet will get dusty. But you will discover the unexpected beauty of following where he leads. And that is worth everything.

Each chapter includes “Taking It Deeper” reflection questions, a Scripture, a Prayer, and Application steps for “Living As A Disciple”. – from author’s website

I enjoyed this book and how Suzanne Eller used the twelve disciples as the focus and what we can learn from their lives. It gave more depth to them and showed that Jesus chose ordinary people to follow Him. I also liked that she used personal stories from her own life and those she knew to bring the lessons she learned through the disciples stories into this day and age. She was willing to share her struggles and hard times that she’s been through. At the end of each chapter, there are thought-provoking questions to get you to think about what you read in the chapter and how it could apply to your life. Overall, it’s a nice little book that takes you through the book of Luke and the disciples stories.
